Website Review ◑ Michelle Tucker Coaching

“You made it feel safe for me to put my website out there.”

Michelle Tucker is a coach for business leaders and founders, helping them step back, find clarity and untangle the knots that naturally build when running a business.

After growing her coaching business through referrals and recommendations, she was ready to launch her website as the professional foundation for her online presence.

Michelle booked a Website Review before the launch, combining proofreading with a review of her website from a visitor’s perspective.

Along the journey of writing the content, learning how to use the platform to build her site and preparing to launch, it stopped being a collection of webpages and had become a collection of decisions.

The review looked at how those decisions worked together, from the words on the page to the way the website functioned.

“I couldn’t see the tweaks that were needed having stared at the content for so long.”

The experience angle

Michelle knew what she wanted every page to achieve and why she’d made those decisions. She wasn’t looking for someone to rewrite or redesign her website. What she needed was someone she trusted to experience the whole site as a potential client would.

“The time I’d invested in putting it together warranted a professional review so I could feel confident launching it.”

Alongside proofreading the content, I reviewed Michelle’s website with a focus on usability, navigation, link functionality, calls to action and image loading. A large part of the process covered consistency in language, visual presentation and brand identity across platforms.

Some observations confirmed the website issues Michelle had wondered about and concerns she’d already expressed. Others uncovered oversights that remained from the design and editing stages, such as duplicate call-to-action buttons and inconsistent text alignment. There were elements she hadn’t realised had become part of the website, let alone that visitors could see them, like platform branding and mobile display quirks.

“The review was so much more than I was expecting. It was really thorough, and kind!”

Website in full view

Inviting someone to review a website you’ve created yourself can be vulnerable. Michelle had invested time, money, thought and heart into hers, and wanted honest feedback she could act on.

Michelle received a complete review pack. The proofread Word document with tracked changes came with an editorial style sheet. The Website Review document gave clear explanations and recommended actions to work through at her own pace. Screenshots of her website on desktop and mobile were also provided so she could easily refer back to how it looked at the time of the review.

Every observation came with context: what I’d spotted, why it mattered, and the information needed for Michelle to decide how she wanted to move forwards.

“It was structured in such a way that I could work through it to fix or tweak the site to my preferences, making it flow and be consistent in design.”

The shift

Instead of wondering what else might have been overlooked, or whether the people trying to contact her were actually reaching her, Michelle could start sharing her website knowing it represented her business the way she intended.

“The difference has been massive. I felt confident in promoting the website in a way I never would have done if the only reviewer had been me, or friends and family.”

On reflection

The value wasn’t only in the changes themselves, but in knowing they’d been resolved before her visitors found them.

“Utilising professional support in this way has been a game changer for me, and Lorraine’s style and approach were absolutely what I needed.”

Website review starts from £250.
